3Eligibility and Account Registration
3.1 Adult Accounts
You must be at least 18 years of age to create a standard RodeoRoster account, enter into these Terms, accept financial services, or act as the administrator for an organization, barn, or event Producer.
3.2 Child Competitor Accounts
RodeoRoster recognizes that western sports welcome competitors of all ages, including very young children participating in kiddie and youth events. Accordingly, a verified parent or legal guardian ("Responsible Adult") who holds an active adult RodeoRoster account in good standing may create one or more Child Accounts for children in their care, regardless of the child's age. A Child Account is a dependent sub-account linked to the Responsible Adult's account. The Responsible Adult:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must hold a verified adult RodeoRoster account in good standing
- Accepts these Terms on behalf of the child at the time of Child Account creation
- Represents that they are the child's parent or legal guardian, or have been granted lawful authorization to act on the child's behalf
- Is fully responsible for all activity conducted under the Child Account
- Is the sole authorized user of any financial features associated with the Child Account, including event registration payments, prize payout receipt, and membership dues
- Consents to the collection and use of the child's information as described in these Terms and in the Privacy Policy
A Child Account does not grant the child independent access to financial services, payment methods, or account administration features. All transactions associated with a Child Account are managed by and attributed to the Responsible Adult's account.
3.3 Child Account Features and Restrictions
Child Accounts are designed to represent the child as a competitor and maintain their athletic record. Child Account features include:
- A competitor profile displaying the child's first name and last initial, or a chosen competitor name configured by the Responsible Adult
- Event registration submitted and paid by the Responsible Adult
- Performance history, times, placings, and results across all events entered
- Animal associations linking the child's horse or animal to their competitive record
- Membership enrollment managed by the Responsible Adult or the administering organization
- Performance clip delivery to the Responsible Adult's account
Child Accounts may not independently log in, manage account settings, submit payment information, accept terms, or communicate with other users outside of features explicitly designed for youth competitors and visible only to the Responsible Adult and authorized organization administrators.
3.4 Responsible Adult Obligations
By creating a Child Account, the Responsible Adult agrees to:
- Supervise all Platform activity associated with the Child Account
- Ensure all information provided for the Child Account is accurate, including the child's name, date of birth, and competitive details
- Promptly notify RodeoRoster at privacy@rodeoroster.app if the child's guardianship or custodial arrangement changes in a way that affects who is the lawful Responsible Adult
- Promptly close the Child Account if the child is no longer under their legal guardianship or care
- Ensure the child's participation in events complies with all applicable event eligibility rules, parental consent requirements, and safety regulations established by the event Producer or sanctioning organization
3.5 Transfer and Transition of Child Accounts
When a child reaches 18 years of age, their Child Account may be transitioned to a standard adult account. RodeoRoster will provide notice to the Responsible Adult's email address in advance of this transition. Upon transition, the individual assumes full independent responsibility for the account and must accept these Terms in their own right before the account is converted. If a child between the ages of 13 and 17 is capable of and wishes to independently manage their own account, the Responsible Adult may request an account conversion to a supervised minor account, subject to the Responsible Adult's continued co-authorization and oversight. This option is not available for children under 13.
3.6 Account Accuracy
All users agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to maintain that accuracy over time. RodeoRoster reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts based on false, inaccurate, or incomplete information, including misrepresentation of a child's age, guardianship, or identity.
3.7 Account Security
The Responsible Adult is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all account credentials, including any access credentials associated with Child Accounts. You agree to notify us immediately at security@rodeoroster.app of any unauthorized access to or use of any account in your household.
3.8 Organization Accounts
When creating an account on behalf of an organization, club, or association, the registering individual represents that they have authority to bind the organization to these Terms and that the information provided accurately reflects the organization.
4Stripe-Powered Payments and Financial Services
RodeoRoster's financial features are powered by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By using any payment or financial feature on the Platform, you agree to be bound by Stripe's applicable terms in addition to these Terms. Stripe's Terms of Service are available at stripe.app/legal..
4.1 Stripe as Payment Processor
All payment card transactions, bank transfers, and financial flows are handled by Stripe as the licensed payment processor. RodeoRoster does not store full payment card numbers on its servers. Card data is tokenized and stored by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
4.2 Stripe Connect — Producer and Organization Accounts
Event producers, arena operators, barn facilities, and organizations that receive payouts through the Platform do so via Stripe Connect. Producers define payout rules but do not hold or control event funds; the Platform collects entry fees and executes payouts. If you receive payouts as a Producer or organization administrator, you must create or connect a Stripe Connected Account and additionally agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement at stripe.app/connect-account/legal..
4.3 Identity Verification
Stripe requires identity verification for Connected Accounts, including personal identification and banking details. This information is collected and verified by Stripe in accordance with KYC and AML regulations. Child Accounts may not hold Connected Accounts. All financial accounts associated with a Child Account are held and managed by the Responsible Adult.
4.4 RodeoRoster Pay — Entry Fees and Payout Distribution
Entry fees are collected through the Platform and held in the Platform's account (via Stripe). Competitors do not pay Producers directly. Payout rules are set by the Producer and locked once entries begin. After event completion and Producer confirmation, RodeoRoster instructs Stripe to distribute funds per the configured payout structure: to competitor wallets (winnings), and to Producers and staff via Stripe Connect. Payouts associated with Child Account placings are distributed to the Responsible Adult's Connected Account or linked bank account. RodeoRoster is not responsible for payout delays caused by Stripe's processing timelines or incorrect banking information.
4.5 Platform Fees
RodeoRoster charges service fees on transactions processed through the Platform, deducted at the time of transaction. Current fee schedules are published at rodeoroster.app/fees and may be updated with thirty (30) days prior notice.
4.6 Refunds and Disputes
Entry fee refund policies are set by individual event Producers. RodeoRoster's platform fee is non-refundable once processed. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting billing@rodeoroster.app may result in account suspension.
4.7 Subscription Billing
Subscription plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on each renewal date. You may cancel at any time through account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
4.8 Tax Reporting
Users who receive payments through the Platform may be subject to tax reporting requirements. RodeoRoster or Stripe may issue IRS Form 1099-K or other required documentation to applicable users. You are solely responsible for all tax obligations arising from payments received through the Platform.
